DEVELOP A REVITALIZATION PLAN TO BUILD A stonger WARD
The more opportunities a community has to learn, work, and play together, the safer that community becomes. We need an Alderman who understands the difference between revitalization and gentrification and will fight to preserve the unique nature of our neighborhoods by fostering the development of a safe community where residents can live, learn, work, and play.

- Gather input from residents and prioritize the types of business, housing, social services, schools, transportation options, and recreational spaces we want to see in our neighborhoods while still preserving the Ward's diversity.
- Support Neighborhood Schools - watch a clip of Annisa speaking about Public Education
- Impose a moratorium on charter schools until our neighborhood schools stop losing funding.
- Promote neighborhood schools importance as community centers.
- Support the Green Space initiative for Hibbard/APMA/Edison so students can get a playground
- Work toward a school board with elected representatives.
- Promote Small Businesses and Local Job Creation
- Market the Ward to draw in new businesses, jobs, nonprofits, and social enterprises.
- Expand the Small Business Improvement Fund (SBIF) program and Support Special Service Area #60
- Work with nonprofits to encourage apprenticeship and job training programs.
- Foster the Development of Community Spaces
- Promote the efforts of community groups and nonprofits to improve unused spaces in the Ward so residents have recreation options.
- Support the fundraising efforts of the Horner Park Advisory Council for the dog park.
- Ensure Public Service Delivery
- Coordinate between government agencies to maintain adequate provision of public services and sound decision-making on timing of infrastructure developments.
- Work with other levels of government to address the flooding problems in Albany Park and other neighborhoods.
- Utilize Data to Direct Public Safety Efforts
- Analyze police, 311, housing court, elections, and other data to determine at-risk areas and target these areas for improved public services, increased police presence, and more community events.
